How can I access Contraceptive Pills by Post?
Contraceptives by Post are available to patients if you have already had the contraceptive pill prescribed through Lanarkshire Sexual Health, you can get a repeat pill prescription by making an online booking for a telephone consultation. You will need a telephone consultation with a health professional first and if suitable, can get contraception (pills) sent to you in the post. During your consultation, you may be advised that a face to face appointment for blood pressure/BMI check is required before you can be given the combined pill.
Patients who have less than 2 weeks supply left are advised to call the appointment line, please call 0300 303 0251 to arrange a telephone consultation (Mon – Thurs: 8am–4.45pm and Fri: 8am–3.45pm).
How will the package look?
Contraceptive pills will be sent discreetly to your address in a plain brown envelope. Delivery will be through Royal Mail.
Contraceptives can also be picked up from an NHS site, but to reduce footfall, we would prefer them to be posted out to you. This will be discussed with you during the consultation.
How long will they take to arrive?
Our department processes orders as quickly as possible and all orders are sent by Royal Mail second class post. Please allow 7 working days for your order to arrive before getting in touch with the department. .
Contraceptive orders require the telephone consultation to take place first and the clinician will then discuss with you when to expect delivery or if a face to face consultation is required first.
