Fertility and Infertility
Fertility is generally something that people take for granted and assume they will be able to conceive when they chose to. However for some people this is not the case. Infertility occurs when a couple can’t conceive (become pregnant) despite having regular unprotected sex.
Women with concerns about their fertility should make an appointment with their GP. A few tests will usually be necessary before onward referral to a fertility clinic. Men with possible fertility problems can also attend their GP and will generally be provided with a semen specimen pot which can be returned and tested.
