Young People Clinics are all drop-in. Register before the last hour of the clinic – late arrivals may not be seen.
Online Booking
In Lanarkshire, some sexual health appointments can be booked via the online booking system. For all other appointments not included in the list below, please call the appointment line on 0300 303 0251 (Monday – Thursday: 8am–4:45pm and Friday: 8am–3:45pm. We are also able to offer home STI testing kits which are bookable online, please see full details below.
At the moment, patients are only able to book online for:
- Contraceptive Coil (IUD/IUS) – Removal
- Contraceptive Coil (IUD/IUS) – Insertion / Removal & Insertion (appointments limited online)
- Contraception – I need to discuss my options (This appointment is for patients who would like to discuss all their contraception options. Please be advised that it may be necessary to attend a further appointment depending on which contraception option you decide on)
- Contraception – Repeat pill prescription (This appointment is for patients who currently receive their contraception from Lanarkshire Sexual Health Service i.e. pill/patch/sayana and wish a REPEAT ONLY. This DOES NOT include Coils or Implants. Please DO NOT book an appointment for any other reason as you will not be seen)
- Contraceptive Implant – Removal / Insertion / Removal & Insertion
- Contraception – I need a repeat prescription (This is for patients who require a REPEAT DEPO-PROVERA CONTRACEPTION INJECTION. Patients will have been sent a passcode to book this appointment)
- STI testing – no symptoms – Express ‘no talk’ testing – (This clinic is for people WITHOUT symptoms to ATTEND CLINIC for tests for STIs and HIV. If you have symptoms or questions about your sexual health please call our phone line to book an appointment on 0300 303 0251, Mon- Thu 8am-4.45pm or Fri 8am-4pm, as you will NOT be able to discuss these at this appointment.)
Passcode
Patients on our waiting lists may be sent an SMS (text) which will include a Passcode and their NaSH number to book online. If using a mobile phone, scroll down to “Passcode – I have a passcode”, which is the last option on the online booking system list. Then enter the passcode sent in the SMS along with your date of birth, postcode and NaSH number.
Cancellation
Some clinics have been set up to allow patients to cancel online using their date of birth and Ticket Number received in their appointment text reminder. Simply go to the online booking system and follow the cancellation option. Patients can also cancel appointments by phoning 01698 753848.
Self-Sampling Kits
STI testing at home
If you do not have any symptoms you will not need to be examined by a clinician. This means you can take your own tests at home. Including one or more of the following:
- Urine sample
- Self-Taken Throat Swab
- Self-Taken Rectal Swab
- Self-Taken Vaginal Swab
- Self-Taken Finger-prick blood test

Weekly cap on number of kits available. Our laboratory can only manage a specific number of kits per week, which means we quickly reach our daily limit. If we have no kits available, please try again. More kits will become available every day.
Please complete your tests as soon as possible and drop off at one of our health centres as detailed in your kit instructions.
Self-sampling kits are not available by walking into a clinic. Kits can be posted to your address or, when ordering your kit, you can choose to collect from Glenalmond Clinic, Coathill Hospital, Coatbridge ML5 4DN, you will be sent an SMS once your kit has been sent or is ready for collection: Order your self-sampling kit online.
