Young People Clinics
NHS Lanarkshire provides walk-in clinics across North and South Lanarkshire for young people up to the age of 20 years. They are provided in both health and non-health settings. The staff are specially trained and are used to seeing young people.
- YP (Young People’s) Clinics are staffed by sexual health nurses and offer; testing (STI/BBV), condoms, pregnancy testing, and some forms of contraception.
- YP+ (Young People’s Plus) Clinics are staffed by sexual health nurses and doctors and offer; testing (STI/BBV), STI treatment, PrEP available, condoms, pregnancy testing, and all forms of contraception.
All services are confidential, so your parents or carers won’t be informed if you attend, however, if a young person under 16 years old shares some information which places them or someone else in danger, staff may have to share the information disclosed with other agencies. Find your local clinic.
